First, Some Good News for Our Readers and Their Librarians,

As promised, JSR will soon have a new outlet on the World Wide Web. In addition to being featured as part of the Geoscience World publishing aggregate (available to individual members since February 2005). JSR will have its own independent website that will provide to institutional subscribers the same level of up-to-date features that are currently available to individuals. This new site is still in test mode. To see something very similar to what the initial version of the website will be like, you can examine the Jan/Feb issue (temporarily set to open access) at GSW (http://jsedres.geoscienceworld.org/). As we develop a unique JSR style for the new site, there will be opportunity to take members' desires into account. What features and functions would you like to see?
The new site is designed and hosted by Stanford University's High Wire Press, also home to GSW. Articles published in odd months will be available on-line in advance of their appearing in the print issues that come out in even months, instantly cutting a month from the production schedule for about half the papers that appear in JSR. Many libraries, eager to conserve precious shelf space and to cut costs, will be delighted to find that there is now this very high quality digital route into JSR's content. This new site will . . .
